House of Parlance Media, Inc. publishes poetry, graphic
novels and manga for people who demand quality & freshness
in what they read. We take pride in the publishing
original work by young writers and artists whose
vision we admire.
We are looking for material that is challenging, original
and possesses a strong aesthetic. We are looking for
strong voices.
We are not interested in publishing art or writing
that fits into the mainstream genres of superhero,
vigilante, fantasy and science fiction.
Though we certainly accept them, we will not assume
responsibility for unsolicited submissions. Please
do not send us anything that you would mind being thrown
away. Do not send us your originals. Please allow us
2 or 3 months for a response.
Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope
for us to enclose our reply in.
We also request that
you send along a cover letter stating your name and
address, etc… as well as
a brief list of credits if it applies. Thank you in advance. Please see below for the technical

Script Submissions:
Please submit a story synopsis that is a one-page
outline. This can be accompanied by the full script.
Spelling, punctuation and grammar are crucial. We
will not read a submission that is riddled with errors.
Please have someone proof your work before sending
it to us.
Artwork Submissions: Please
submit four to six pages of sequential panel art.
If possible,
submit penciled, inked and colored work.
Technical Requirements:
Art for print – CMYK layered TIFFs with no compression.
Minimum 300dpi with 5” x 7.5” page size.
No tints below 5%, no rules below .25pt and a maximum
320% ink density.
Art for web – At a minimum the characters and
backgrounds should be kept on separate layers. Frame
aspect ratios will be either 4:3 or 16:9. Text must
be readable at 400x300 pixel resolution.
Lettering – Above Illustrator imported into
the TIFF as a separate
layer. Must be 1c black only. Original AI files must
be included with TIFFs.
Paged Book – Adobe InDesign file with linked
TIFF files. 1/8” bleed for spreads and 1/4” margin
for non-bleeding.
